Apply for a Scholarship in 2023
Highschool/College Students
If you are in year 10, 11 or 12 and attend one of the two high schools in the Derwent Valley you may apply for one of 9 scholarships. Each scholarship is worth $1,000.00. To be eligible you must reside in the Derwent Valley area and demonstrate an interest in further education in the health care sector. You may be interested in anything from medical administration, reception, nursing, medical or allied health. To apply, please submit a 500 word reflection on how you have contributed to the Derwent Valley and how you aim to contribute to the Derwent Valley with further education. Please specify what year and which high school you are currently attending.
The following scholarships will be awarded:
Dr Ralph Peters Scholarship $1,000.00 (two awards)
Dr Annette Douglas Scholarship $1,000.00 (two awards)
Dr Martin Neuberger Scholarship $1,000.00 (two awards)
Dr Christopher Hilton Scholarship $1,000.00 (one award)
Dr James Green Scholarship $1,000.00 (one award)
Dr Samantha Gibson-Smith Scholarship $1,000.00 (one award)
General Practice Registrars
If you are a registrar currently working in the Derwent Valley, you may apply for a scholarship to assist with further education. Please provide no more than 250 words listing where in the Derwent Valley you are working, the duration you have worked there and what education you intend on undertaking.
The following scholarships will be awarded:
Derwent Valley Medical Scholarship $2,500.00 (four awards)
Applications will open 21st April 2023 and award winners will be announced 20th May 2023.
